Card Description: For my Loteria Card I wanted to share my thoughts on climate change. I chose climate change as a subject matter because it is a serious issue in today's society that isn't spoken about enough. The colors I used do not have a specific meaning. I painted an image of a sick earth to represent how the earth is slowly dying. The images above the earth represent the causes and the effects of climate change. To me this card represents how our earth is slowly being damaged by the actions of people. I want the audience to see that this is a real issue and soon earth will be uninhabitable.

Student Biography: My name is Nathalie Rodriguez and I am a senior at Santa Maria High School. I live in Santa Maria, California with my parents, sisters, niece, and nephew. My parents are from Mexico, which makes me hispanic. For my Loteria card I chose to represent climate change. What inspired me to draw my Loteria card was to spread awareness about this issue. The artist process was somewhat difficult for me because I am not an artist. After high school I plan on going to college and study nursing.
