Card Description: none
Student Biography: My name is Vanessa Pena, I was born in Santa Maria, and I come from a family of six. I enjoy listening to music, playing video games and hanging out with my family. I plan on continuing my education after graduating high school. El Machismo is about male dominance. In the painting a mother is holding her child in her arms while the man is just drinking and watching tv. The mother looks stressed and is holding the baby while the husband is relaxing and does not acknowledge her or the kid. The message I chose was, when it comes to working and having responsibilities these things should be split between both parents. Both men and women should have equal responsibilities when it comes to the household. The background color I chose is reddish purple. I chose this color because I feel like it is a color that fits the topic of machismo. When I think of machismo I think of a bruise, both machismo and a bruise can leave a mark.
